This zero clearance throat plate is made for your Lowe’s Kobalt job site table saw. You need this if you want to make cleaner cuts in plywood. A riving knife is built into the throat plate to keep the cut material snug against the fence. Please verify that the model number on your saw is KT10152. The slot for the blade is designed to be tight fitting around the blade to ensure a clean cut, so when using the plate for the first time:
Lower the blade all the way down.
Install the plate and set the fence on top of the plate to help hold down the plate.
Wearing eye protection, turn on the saw.
Slowly raise the spinning blade through the slot so that the blade will cut the slot to the size of your blade.
Now you have a perfect zero clearance throat plate.
